RAF Fylingdales may not be one of the most well-known Royal Air Force stations but its role in keeping the UK safe is vital. It forms part of the UK and US governments’ Ballistic Missile Early Warning System. Military personnel watch for incoming missiles and also track space objects, operating as a kind of air traffic control for space. We were given the chance to look inside.
